Our trust provides full tuition scholarships for girls to obtain a top-quality education at Jeppe High School for Girls, one of South Africa’s premier public schools.
We develop deserving young women into principled leaders who are making a difference in the world.
Ruth First, our namesake, was a Jeppe Old Girl. Brave, bold, hardworking, a tireless fighter against injustice: she is our role model and our inspiration.
The Trust was formed in 2010. “It will be wonderful for many young women of diverse backgrounds to be given the opportunity to obtain top quality education at Ruth’s old school and thus follow in her footsteps.” Justice Albie Sachs, our patron.
There are 71 girls currently on scholarships at Jeppe,
18 girls will join us in 2024 and we have 82 alumnae.
